911 Change in Service!
Beginning July 1, 2010 the City of South Tucson will have improved its emergency communications system. When you need police, fire or medical assistance in the City of South Tucson, call 911, as before. What’s new? You’ll connect to an operator at the 911 emergency call center for Tucson and South Tucson, who will ask you for information and then transfer you to the appropriate public service agency. A dispatcher will then send the South Tucson Police or Fire Department to South Tucson emergencies. The Tucson Police Department dispatch center will be dispatching for the South Tucson Police. You shouldn’t notice the change and it will not cause any noticeable delays in response times. Our new joint dispatch system will make it much easier to coordinate and communicate with the City of Tucson during emergencies. You will still be able to come in or call the City of South Tucson Police Records Section at (520) 622-0655 weekdays, between 8 AM and 5 PM.
