FOR ALL CIVIL TRAFFIC OFFENSES you may:

 

1. Pay the fine amount ON OR BEFORE your APPEARANCEBy paying the fine amount in full you are pleading responsible to the charge(s) on the complaint and the case will be closed.  Payments accepted by:

a. Click on PAYING THE FINE BY MAIL [EN] [SP] for a printable form for mailing in your preferred language.

b. Appear at the court, or call 520-917-1569, between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

 

2. Attend Defensive Driving School (DDS) at least seven (7) days PRIOR TO your APPEARANCE DATE.  If you are eligible and complete the school to the satisfaction of the Defensive Driving School and Supreme Court requirements, your traffic violation will be dismissed.  DDS must be completed at least seven (7) days PRIOR TO your appearance date.

 

3. Request a Civil Traffic Hearing ON OR BEFORE your APPEARANCEYou are pleading not responsible to the charge on the complaint.  A hearing may be set by:

a. Click on SETTING A HEARING BY MAIL [EN] [SP] and follow the instructions.

b. Appear at the court between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

 

FAILURE TO RESPOND by the APPEARANCE DATE on a CIVIL Traffic complaint will result in a default judgment being entered against you. A civil fine amount will be imposed, according to the amount on the fine schedule, plus a $40 default fee. The Department of Motor Vehicles (MVD) will be notified. Your case will be sent to a collection agency and additional fees will be assessed. You license will be suspended until the entire fee is paid to the court.

 

NOTE: A.R.S 8-323D requires the parent, guardian or custodian of the juvenile (person under the age of 18) to appear in court with the juvenile at the time of the APPEARANCE DATE.

Performs a variety of public contact and legal clerical work following detailed written procedures and oral instructions for the South Tucson City Court. The Court Administrator and Presiding Judge monitor work. Work is performed in normal office and courtroom settings. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Solid Waste Collection for Multifamily Residential

In accordance with A.R.S. 49-746, any "Multifamily residential properties” […] defined as “any real property that has one or more structures and that contains five or more dwelling units for rent or lease”, may seek solid waste collection services through the provider of their choice.   The effective date of this statute is July 1, 2016, but the City of South Tucson is implementing the change immediately. The City will allow any property owner with five or more dwelling units to seek services from a provider of their choice prior to the effective date of the statute. The change/amendment to the South Tucson City Code will take place in the coming months.
